Ring in the New Year!

My dad's friend invited us to his New Year party. At first my dad didn't want to go (he had a bad headache) but I forced him into going. Hehehe, what can I say?! I'm a party-girl at heart!
The house was beautiful and was the perfect party environment.

The view from the house

A surprise visit from Katy Perry to sing her infamous and tired song. Oh joy. Notice she's dressed as a grandfather clock for the occasion.

Haha I did like this mini-photo shoot next to the pool.

Ok Drew, here's my random picture...

7 Days Until Christmas

These are some Christmas pictures. More soon!
The day we put up our tree-- December 13th.

Tree Time. The annual Christmas tree lot my neighbor owns. It's the cutest thing ever, and they have GREAT trees!
Dad, mom, and me with our neighboor Frank.
Tradition of 'greeting' the right Christmas tree
Dad at the lot

Loading the tree

Mom and dad standing in the parking lot. We had a brilliant moon that night.
Decorating the tree!

Cute ornaments we've had for years.
Dad and Jacky. I thought this was a cool picture.

This is my favorite ornament. It's a handmade ballerina ornament made in the Phillipines. My aunt and uncle were missionaries there, and they brought it back for Christmas back in 2002.
Santa and Mrs. Claus. These ones are really old.

Little dog on the train. Reminds me of the toys on Misfit Island.
Skater with one skate

Mr. Christmas ClownMary (I took this with my telephoto. It blurs the background so well!)
My friend Hayden got his braces on the 15th

Monday Surprise

I arrived from KEYS today to find a box sitting by the front door.
I opened it, and it was my new 75-300 mm telephoto zoom lens!
I bid for it on eBay, and have been waiting for it to come in!
I'm very excited that I have it now, and will be taking some awesome pictures
over Christmas!

My Monday: and updates on life

Well, I just got done reading 213 pages of Oliver Twist this morning before class at 12:30
I can't believe I did it.
Let's see... other things. Oh!
Well, this week for Thanksgiving we are having it at our house.
My aunt, uncle, and cousins are coming, and a few friends.
If they weather stays nice, we'll play badminton, croquet, boccie, and other fun lawn games.
My dad always makes really good food; but the baking is our job.
My friends Dan and Jack, usually come over the night before, and we bake all night.
Last year we had tray after tray of things waiting to go into the oven. I think we ended up going to bed at 1 am!
The year before that, we went to bed at 4 am!
It's always so fun! It's a Thanksgiving tradition!
After that, this week I'll probably do loads of homework, and study for my boring (sorry Caroline) biology test.
And then on Saturday, I'll be joining a majority of my friends from KEYS and go to the Victorian Ball!
Yay! I know Michelle will be psyched to hear this.
So that's my week,
~Eve

Happy (?) Fourth of July

Yesterday I was catching up on every one's blogs.
For the fourth, they had a picture of a flag and a quote or something.
"Oh geez!" I thought, "I haven't done mine yet!"
I don't want to take America for granted; I should at least honor it somehow!
So I set out some history books with cool covers of different points in history.
A Bible, a little antique church, an old flag and the picture of the current U.S. president.
I wanted to show what America is all about. What it started on, what happened in history, and to remind people to pray for our president.
So I made a little collage, and took a picture.
One hour later...
I'm frustrated and I only have 1 picture left on my card.
I walked away,
sadly, It could not give justice.
(I wonder if it was the lighting?)
