SBC youth orchestra.
Nothin quite like a "fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants-everybody-together-sight-reading-stress-session."
It was awesome.
Even if Paydon got the cool piece with the solo this year. Oh well, I had the cool piece last year. It's only fair.
It's difficult for him, I'm hoping that I can help him out with the piece. I'm itching to help. I gave him a pointer yesterday and it seemed to work.
One year later and I'm WAY more comfortable with syncopation/churchy tunes than before. I think church choir helped me accomplish that. (NOT ASU; note.)
Songs:
Amazing Grace -- piano
Blessed Be the Name -- string reduction (keyboard)

Sigh
Have you ever had a friend that traumatizes you with their drama and it changes the friendship? Yikes.
Two things you can count on for the school year:
Second semester drama
Time FLYING by after spring break

i want out
This is on my mind constantly. I want out of ASU. Let me go. Let me run away.
I am literally counting down the days until summer. Ugh.
I am literally counting down the days until summer. Ugh.
I have to survive. 11 days until spring break. I must survive.
What a long, monotonous week I have in front of me. :(
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday will be exciting though!
Why?
Tue--youth orchestra starts up this day at SBC!! I can't wait to work with Dr. Bruce Pearson.
Getting cavities filled on Tuesday. I have 5 but I'm looking forward to it. Hope I don't drool during rehearsal. Yikes.
Wed--as usual, I have choir that night and it's exciting because we sing worship songs and I get to see my old people friends.
Thur--covenant community church girls bible study with Elle and Audrey.
Fri--volleyball with the Soma kids at horizon park. Soma is the young adult ministry at SBC. I really wanna check it out even if the kids are older than me. College group - (SBC) is just way too weird. The music is indie, I don't know anybody, and all they ever talk about there is what the bible says about sleeping around and other sins college ppl deal with. Yeah not an exact match for me.

moved on
Today mom and I drove up to Prescott to see Mr. Bardin's daughter get married.
It was a great wedding, Lia looked so beautiful and I was so glad to see familiar faces again.
They had a swing band at the reception and it was amazing!! Such a great idea! Weddings needs these, not DJ's.
On Friday instead of taking the 202 to the 101. I drove down Rural and ended up at the old studio. I just kind of circled the parking lot to see if I had any feelings at all.
What I really felt was that it still felt the same. That I still felt the same. I could still go back. I could leave ASU and be okay.
Today at the wedding; a second obstacle. Would Mr. Bardin be the same? I couldn't really tell actually. Could I return as a student? Or is that part finished? Today he said I could always stop by and talk on Tuesdays at the studio--which I need to do anyway for a school project.
My aunt and I have been praying for a "burning bush" moment for me.
Moses heard "GO," and it was pretty clear. Clarity would be nice.
I think it is moving toward that direction: GO from ASU.
But GO where?
My time at ASU will not be a whole wasted year. It is easy to fall into the habit of labeling it that way. But no, I will force myself from now on to look at ASU like an aptitude test I took. I needed to find out what I really loved and want to do. I took a long test and got the final results "You'd be good at ___" Thanks ASU.
(really I must look at it this way or label it painful and wasteful, and I don't want to do that.)

I was just reading last year's journal
Can you say, nutcase?
I thought life was weird now; compared to last year? Life rocks.
Not sure what the DEAL is with graduation/senior year summer. It's a nightmare. Too many thoughts, too much complications, too many awkward moments, too much caring, too much worrying, too much melodrama, regret, etc. HAHA. Now? I just exist, do homework, talk to people. I feel so uncomplicated and normal. It's wonderful.
Guys if you're reading this. LIFE GETS BETTER. SENIOR YEAR IS A BUST.
after the dust settles and adults stop grilling you about your future, you start to live your life. And you go back to normal. It will happen. Promise.

What will I miss when I leave university?
The drives to Tempe.
The Lakes.
The sound of the practice rooms.
Gammage.
Chipotle.
Being a student. Accomplishing things in a sea of others.
The quiet library.
What will I gain?
My sense of individuality.
Freedom.
The drive to pursue things I really love.
Studying with Mr. Bardin again.
Returning to "real" music, not soul-less.
Life/work experiences.
Time to pursue projects and interests.
Time to grow and thrive.

Where do I even start?
Well this morning I was blasting two things, the heater and the Doxology. Seemed fitting when I rounded the corner and saw an unexpected rainbow.
As for pics:
Mom scraped ice off the windshield with a debit card. Minnesotans are so resourceful.
Backstage the Sunday buffet was valentines themed. When old people make cupcakes, frost, and put sprinkles on them, they are 100x more delicious. I love the choir. Bill always discusses Downton Abbey with me, and Sandee says I make her feel young.
Brandon called me out of the blue. We talked. This pic of him is basically classic. And he looks like Ryan Phillipe , we have discovered.
Back to today, yeah we had the most amazing cloud weather all day. I snapped pics wherever I went. Practice room, 5th floor, rural road, miller, mountain views. I just could not take the boring 101 or I would scream. I took the long way home (I love that song) and I'm glad I did
I drew a comic of Evan wearing his new uggs around Fordham. He's gone crazy over them, he says it's like walking on heaven.
Lauren face timed with me I forgot how fun this was.
